Mississippi Civil War Sesquicentennial

Brice's Crossroads National BattlefieldAmerica is recognizing the 150th anniversary of the Civil War during a 4-year period between 2011-2015. The Sesquicentennial observance will feature significant events throughout the 30-county Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area which will help build a greater understanding of this defining struggle.

The Mississippi Hills are rich in Civil War history and come from a unique perspective detailing accounts of some of the conflict’s largest and most furious battles to the smaller, often overlooked vignettes, of individual effort.

Throughout this section of the website we hope you’ll find information that proves valuable in planning your trip.
