The mission of the Oxford Blues Festival is to preserve, protect and promote blues music and culture.

The 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival will take place Friday, July 22, 2011, Saturday July 23, 2011 in Oxford, MS on around the Oxford square, and Sunday July 24 at the Foxfire Ranch just 20 minutes of the Oxford square on Highway 7 in Waterford, MS.

Headlining the festival this year will be Magic Slim and the Teardrops; Eddie C. Campbell; King Edward; and Nellie "Tiger" Travis.

1-Day Tickets are $20.00 each or a weekend pass may purchased for $45.00. Students may purchase a discounted weekend pass online for $35.00 each. For blues enthusiasts on a strict budget, the 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival will have at least 12 free shows open to all. Check the line-up for details.

The 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival will include the following venues around
the historic Oxford square on Friday and Saturday:

7. Proud Larry’s
8. Frank & Marlee’s
9. The Library

The Oxford Blues Festivals will take place outside at the Foxfire Ranch with Nellie "Tiger" Travis headlining and closing the festival on Sunday. The Oxford Blues Festival will provide round-trip coach transportation to the Foxfire Ranch for a nominal fee of $20.00. The coach will pick up from the Oxford Square and the Hampton Inn hotel on Jackson Avenue.

This festival includes over 200 arts, crafts and food vendors and is centered on the Historic Hernando Square, featuring live music, food and kids activities. A 5K race/walk begins at 7:30 a.m. Local businesses will offer free gifts and services for prize drawings.

Festival celebrates the legacies of departed North Mississippi blues legends including R.L.
