The "Killer's" home is referred to as "The Lewis Ranch". The home is a red brick ranch house surrounded by a large brick and board fence. While the home is not open for tours, it is still a popular draw for visitors.

Joe Callicott was a Nesbitt native and is regarded as one of Mississippi’s finest early bluesman. Born in October, 1899, Joe Callicott spent his whole life in the area south of Memphis. His chief musical associate was Garfield Akers and it was as Akers’ second guitarist that he first recorded in 1929. He recorded some final sessions for the blues documentarian, George Mitchell, in the late 60’s. He served as mentor to Nesbitt guitarist, Kenny Brown.

Located at Mount Olive C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Nesbit, Joe Callicott’s Blues Trail Marker is one of four markers located in DeSoto County.
