A leisurely drive down Corinth's tree-lined streets or perhaps a stroll down a shaded sidewalk can conjure memories of a time when homebuilding was an art form and front porches were the heart of a neighborhood. Many picturesque Antebellum, Victorian and Craftsman structures mark time as they offer a history of architectural design stretching from the 1850's into the 1930's. The structures of Historic Downtown offer a kaleidoscope of style and ornate decor. The nostalgia of that vibrant era, when life was centered around the Courthouse Square and election returns were written in soap on storefront windows, still lingers. The walking tour of Corinth's Historic Downtown includes Mississippi Historical Landmarks and National Historic Landmarks.

In 1862, the railroad crossing in Corinth was described as being the 'sixteen most important square feet in the Confederacy." The campaign map traces the Corinth Campaign from Corinth, to Shiloh, to Iuka, and back to Corinth making the Battle of Corinth the largest in Mississippi.
